Wild Earth ~ Twiglet Is Growing By The Day! 11.24.21

Mrs Wig is up in the tree close to the nest and Twiglet in sitting upon its nest. You can see how big Twiglet is - seems to grow bigger every day. Mrs Wig takes a break but does stay close by and Mr Wig is still the main provider for Twiglet. The Spotted Eagle Owlet will start to leave the nest, move around and begin to explore at about 4-6 weeks of age and are normally flying by 7 weeks. The parents continue to to care for the young for a further 5 weeks after they fledge. Although juveniles have been observed catching and killing their own prey 7 weeks after fledging, the exact age of full independence is not known. Twiglet is at least 28 days old but may be close to 30 days. Thank you for watching!
