506 Terrace Coat
Acrylic Fiber Reinforced
WATERPROOF COATING
AREAS OF APPLICATION:
♦ All types of Terraces – Flat and sloping / All type of
roofs.
♦ Waterproofing for roofs ranging from asphalt,
asbestos, cement to concrete and terrazzo tiles.
♦ Recommended for both horizontal and inclined
structures.
♦ Waterproofing of roof slabs, terraces, balconies, sun
shades, parapet walls, etc. Provides additional
waterproofing and protection when used as base or
intermediate coat in brickbat coba.
♦ For waterproofing of new as well as old surfaces.
FEATURES & BENEFITS:
♦ Film thickness – Provides higher dry film thickness of
600-800 microns in three coat applications.
♦ Application advantage - No need to remove existing
plaster, concrete surface, sound brickbat coba etc. Can
be applied by brush & roller easily.
♦ Strength – Increase flexural & tensile strength and tear
resistance strength.
♦ Durability – High resistant to UV and withstand to
various weather conditions including freeze-thaw
damage.
♦ Resilience – Forms highly elastic and resilient coating
which helps to withstand the structural movements.
♦ Crack bridging - Bridges cracks up to 2 mm width
without additional work.
♦ Abrasion resistant – No additional protective coating is
required for roof used for the normal foot traffic.
♦ Toxicity – It is non-toxic in nature. Environment friendly
eco product.
♦ Breathability – It is breathable.
♦ Excellent resistance to the growth of microorganisms.
♦ The coating performance can be enhanced for large roofs
by using a fibre mesh between the two coasts.
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
1. Surface Preparation:
♦ New and existing concrete surface must be prepared
thoroughly by cleaning, washing and removing dust, dirt,
oil, grease and loose particles using wire brush or water
pressure jet.
♦ In the existing old terraces with brickbat coba or screeds,
check the soundness of the substrate. Hollow, or damaged
portions, cracked edges etc. must be cut and removed till
the mother slab. The slab should be recoated with slurry of
using NeoSeal® 502 Latex Prime and cement in 1:1
proportion.
♦ If the existing surface has Bitumen based waterproofing
treatments or other type of treatment which is cracked or
peeled of, it must be completely removed by mechanical
scarification or by any other effective mechanical means for
better coating.
♦ Ensure that the roof slope of a minimum of 1 in 100, is
already provided.
2. Crack Filling:
♦ Cracks of size up to 5mm should be filled by NeoSeal® 503 Crack Filler paste. Seal the corners of roof and parapet wall properly.
♦ Cracks wider than 5 mm should be filled by applying
NeoSeal® 502 Latex Prime modified mortar slurry using
putty blade in proper way. Let it dry for 24 hrs.
3. Priming coat:
♦ Prime the surface using a coat of NeoSeal® 504 Primer in
2:1 ratio with water (i.e. 2 parts of Primer with 1 part of
water) OR
♦ Use NeoSeal® 506 as a self-priming by diluting it with
water in 1:1 ratio.
4. Waterproof coating:
♦ Stir well before use. Neoseal® 506 Terrace Coat should
be used directly from the container. Do not dilute the
content with water or other products.
♦ Apply a layer of coats by brush or roller and let it dry for
6-8 hrs. After that apply second coat at right angles
using brush or roller and allow it to dry for one day.
Allow 7 days to cure the coating before ponding taste.
5. Precaution:
♦ All corners, gaps, joints, protrusions & outlets shall be
coated with two extra coats.
♦ Never dilute coating with water for ease of application.
Stir well before use.
♦ Do not apply during raining or extreme temperatures.
Ideal application temp. between 10°C to 45°C.
♦ Avoid abuses which may lead to puncturing of
membrane.
COVERAGE: Coverage depends upon the nature of the surface to be applied. But on average, smooth surface will give approx. 2 sq. mt. (20-22 sq. ft.) per litre per coat. For two coats coverage will be about (10-12) sq. ft. per litre and DFT about 500-600 microns.
PACKING SIZE:
1Ltr., 4Ltr. 10Ltr. & 20Ltr.
SHELF LIFE:
24 months from the date of manufacturing in unopened
condition when in sealed pack and stored under proper
condition Store in a cool & dry place.
HEALTH & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
♦ Skin Contact: Wash skin with soap & water. Remove
contaminated clothes.
